Japan House is an immersion into portals for discovery that transcend boundaries of the physical world, creating experiences of the best of entertainment, art, design, fashion, technology and cuisine from Japan.
A project of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan House is a platform for people with passion and talent to express their experiences and interpretations of Japan through compelling exhibitions and events throughout the space, which includes a gallery, specially curated shop with a small café, library, multi-purpose event space, and a restaurant.
In Los Angeles, Sao Paulo and London, the Japan House experience goes beyond the typical tourist tropes to explore a deeper and more authentic story of Japan. Rather than define Japan as one thing, Japan House is motivated to keep asking and answering the same questions so as to truly understand a culture that is constantly evolving: "What is Japan?"
Through its program of outreach events and activities, Japan House drives further intellectual exchange between Japan and the world, generates new business opportunities, and inspires people to explore the regions of Japan.
Japan House Los Angeles will open on the 2nd and 5th floors of the popular Hollywood & Highland Center, a shopping and entertainment complex home to the Dolby Theatre, the world-famous venue for the annual Academy Awards. To learn more, click here.
